Week 5: Student Self-Assessment and Voice

I’ve noticed that students really gain confidence when they do self-assessments. Simple tools like exit tickets, reflection prompts, and self-checklists help them keep track of their own learning and figure out what they still need to work on (Shatri & Zabeli, 2018). When students help create the assessment criteria too, they take more ownership, stay engaged, and feel responsible for their growth. In my experience, this kind of hands-on approach not only motivates students but also helps them build skills like reflection and goal-setting that last beyond the classroom.
